Deca, derived from the Greek word meaning 'ten' & signifies the sheer magnitude of this event. The Deca Ultra Tri 2025 is the Big One, just one of the 9 races featured & also the most gruelling! The Timekeeper is world renown IUTA sanctioned & respected Norbert Lüftenegger - also the owner of the Swiss Ultra Deca - giving this event the WORLD CLASS QUALITY EVENT with accuracy & credibility.

Our first ever Deca Ultra Triathlon event organised by an experienced tri-athlete and recognised as an international IUTA World Cup Race event (also the first ever DECA for South Africa) will be hosted at the Gariep Dam Forever Resort from 7 March to 23 March 2025. IUTA : International Ultra Triathlon Association Recognised Event

Our Bike & Run course will be measured by a certified surveyor and will satisfy all the required protocols:
* These courses (Bike & Run) will also be verifiable by a top of the range Electronic Timing System which will record each lap + plus time of each athlete + online live tracking

Athletes will participate in the 1st of many annual gatherings by top tri-athletes from around the world right here in beautiful South Africa. All athletes who complete this IUTA World Cup Race will earn full points and possibly set new world records! 

Do athletes need to take malaria precautions for South Africa?
Most parts of South Africa are malaria-free. The Deca event is in the Freestate near Bloemfontein. It is not a malaria zone.
If you are still concerned, you can use Mosquito Repellent but there is no need for extra vaxinations. Athletes are encouraged to also research the high-risk areas through their own clinic or medical doctor.

"How athletes can ENTER a race"

1. Choose your race entry from our COMPETIONS Race Entries menu
2. Read what is included in that race & scroll down to select & checkout of the race
3. Choose your payment option & extra accommodation if required from the dropdown menus
4. Check Out (If not registered yet, it will prompt you to Register)
5. You will receive an e-Mail PDF of your invoice & will also be able to download the Registration Form which must be mailed to admin@ultratrisouthafrica.com 
6. The organizer will send you the Banking Details & arrange payment directly with you (There are also options available to pay the race entry in affordable installments) 
7. You will receive your Race Pack when arriving at the venue
